The Biblia Sacra works are a combination of offset lithography, continuous tone lithography, serigraphy (silkscreening) with application of varnishes and metallic inks. $4,750.00Price
It is from the Gospel of Mark 15:37 (also appears in Matthew 27:50 and Luke 23:46). This marks the moment of Jesus' death on the cross, following His immense suffering during the crucifixion.
Mark 15:37 (KJV):
"And Jesus cried with a loud voice, and gave up the ghost."
Dalí’s Interpretation in Sacra Biblia
Dalí’s surreal interpretation would explore the tragic beauty and spiritual depth of Jesus' final moments. Using surrealist techniques, Dalí would emphasize the cosmic and timeless significance of Jesus’ death, the paradox of death leading to life, and the victory that emerged from this act of ultimate sacrifice. Distorted figures, fractured landscapes, and manipulated time would capture both the spiritual suffering and eternal victory inherent in this moment.
